Monday Moments Ep 9 – Mobile, Mobile, Mobile!

I Love my job!! That’s not something I hear many people saying about their jobs (probably the reason why most of us revere Entrepreneurs like little gods). I believe that for someone to Love what they do, be it in employment or even if they own a business, three things must be; Challenge, Fulfillment, Growth. Without challenges to overcome, you will never get to experience the joy of fulfillment. With no fulfillment, growth eludes you like a shadow.

Last week I came into close contact with some very important people in the local mobile industry. Kiran from Interactive Marketing Services (one of the pioneers of mobile content and TV Game shows in Kenya), Susan from Cellulant (No. 1 in the 2008 Top 100 mid sized company awards), Mwaniki from Mocality.com (the mobile directory company that’s taking the local scene by storm) and of course Hon. Eng James Rege, the e-Mheshimiwa who I blogged about last week. Today’s Monday Moments is 95% Mobile just to warn you in advance 🙂 Continue reading ‘Monday Moments Ep 9 – Mobile, Mobile, Mobile!’

Monday Moments Ep 7 – Of Viral Strategies and Legs…

I have almost recovered from the Girls Rule moments last week. The fact that over half the Creatives I met last week were ladies did not help matters at all. So Finally I have had to accept what the Fluid Tees sheriff  says on his blog, “WOMEN are stronger and must be respected no matter what!!”. No more need be said.

Now, my dear Friends. Does your Viral strategy have legs? And what do you do when your first month in office comes with major network failures and a sleeping customer service department? Oh, and have you figured out where that Venture Capital is coming from? You might also be wondering, what’s new at Intervangelist EA. Can the world survive without Google?

I thought I heard you hesitating a little with that answer. Is this one of those questions that causes a slight chill to shoot up your spine? Or maybe your heart skipped a beat for a second there?

If you think about it, the pre-google era was still rich in intellectual exploits, innovations and inventions. People used to research and find information albeit not necessarily at the click of a button. I belong to a generation whose internet life has been quite synonymous with google life, so yes, that question sends a chill up my spine. Continue reading ‘Can the world survive without Google?’

Monday Moments Ep 4 – What next after Social Networks?

Interesting doesn’t begin to express the week I had. From having to come up with a dazzling digital marketing proposal for a billion shilling company, to having to finish off a trendy website within hours, to realizing that there could finally be a business title for the things I do (my business card still reads internet consultant for lack of a better title), it was a week to cherish.

So what caught my attention this past week? Continue reading ‘Monday Moments Ep 4 – What next after Social Networks?’

SEO is Dead!

I would like to share with you my insight on a paper that I read about a week ago. As an Internet Marketer, SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is one of the gospels I preach most to my clients. Ranking high on Search Engines has for many years been the “be-all and end-all to anything on the web”. So much that many service providers and their clients alike believe that “without it, you are nothing and with it, you are everything on the web.” Continue reading ‘SEO is Dead!’

SEARCH ENGINES GOING PERSONAL, ARE YOU?

How well does your website rank on Google? Have you noticed a surprising decline in your ranking? No longer on Page one, or now users have to scroll to see your website?

Search Engines change their algorithms all the time and what might have worked last week might not cut it anymore this week. The age of meta keywords is gone as Engines become more intelligent, thanks to the ever rampant competition. Continue reading ‘SEARCH ENGINES GOING PERSONAL, ARE YOU?’
